Originally known as 'This Generation' this crew has been around since the mid-1980s. The sound system played at their first carnival in 1985 and is the brainchild of veteran operator Michael (aka Tempz). The name Disya Jeneration is inspired by Bob Marley’s lyrics in ‘Redemption Song’ – “we forward inna this (disya) generation – triumphantly”, which reflects the importance that this crew gives to Notting Hill Carnival’s history and culture. This sound system can also boast having one of the first female selector DJs to play at the Carnival.

As far as sound systems at carnival are concerned, Disya possess a very large and experienced crew, renowned for entertaining the crowd and also for supporting unannounced top-notch guest DJs and artists, as well as emerging talent making their debut appearances. They play a mix and blend of new and old school vibes, party classics, mash ups, together with the biggest tunes that everyone loves to jump up to.

There’s always plenty of home-style Caribbean cuisine and drinks available on-site at the food and bars stalls to ensure that you enjoy the ultimate Carnival Experience.
